• Gandhisagar Lake, located in the Mahal area of ​​Nagpur, is also known as Friday Lake and Jumma Lake. This lake is located right in front of the Raman Science Center. It is said that this lake came into existence about 275 years ago through the water supply scheme of the then ruler of Nagpur, Chand Sultan. This lake was created from the water released from the Nag River. This lake, related to the water reservoir, is also named Jumma Lake. In 1742, Raghuji I declared Nagpur as the capital of his kingdom and during the rule of Bhonsle and the British, this lake was also named Friday Lake. There is a small island in the middle of this lake. There is also an attractive Shiva temple and garden on this island. The beauty of this lake is more attractive at night due to the yellow mercury lamps. There is also a boating facility for those who come here.
